Non Prescription Color Contacts
Non-prescription color contacts are fun! Non-prescription
color contacts are a fashion statement by themselves. You can show you
are green with envy. Or blue as the sea. Perhaps be a study in brown?
For with non-prescription color contacts, you get the look you want when
you feel like it.
Currently there are four types of colored contact lenses: visibility tints,
enhancement tints, opaque color tints and light-filtering tints. As you
can see, the tints vary in intensity and serve different purposes.
- The visibility tint is a light blue or green color added to aid you
in putting on or removing your lenses. So they were tinted for a practical
reason.
- An enhancement tint is a solid (but translucent) tint that affects
eye color, however not in a dramatic way, as it will just emphasize
the existing color of your eyes.
- Color tinted lenses are deep opaque tints that can turn your black
pupils into blue ones. They are made of solid colored patterns.
- Light-filtering tints are the ones used by sportsmen and spectators.
For a special light or filter allows them to see certain objects better
For example, a yellow filter allows the tennis ball to be clearly seen
as it makes the ball stand out while muting the surroundings.
Another less whimsical use for non-prescription color contacts is that
hospitals and clinics use them as a bandage for the eyes right after
cataract surgery.
These contacts are usually done in hydrophilic (water-loving) plastics.
So you need to be diligent in cleaning them and applying disinfectants.
Also even if they are Plano (without vision correction) lenses, you
should still see your eye doctor to get fitted for one.
Don't share these contacts with friends, you could transmit or receive
potentially harmful bacteria.
Exercise care and caution with non-prescription color contacts, as you
do with prescribed contacts, for they are still medical devices.
